Well, here's what I started with. These "before" photos were taken by the person I bought the game from in Feb 2004. 
The cabinet had been repainted with a brush, however they didn't bother to fix any gouges or dings before they did. All in all, the finish looked awful. At least they tried to stay true to the original artwork.
The coin door was in decent shape with no noticeable dents, but was scratched and pitted.
The legs....rusted to hell, half the chrome was peeling, and at 28 1/2 inches they were the wrong length too.
