I have been eagerly looking for a Firepower for several months and really lucked out with this machine. During my search, I saw a LOT of worn-out games. Surprisingly, almost everything is in really good shape on this one which suggests that it may not have seen a lot of time out on location.

Well, here's something you don't see every day. A perfect original Firepower backglass! A previous owner had the foresight to coat the backside which prevented any of the flaking and paint loss that is common with Firepower backglasses.

The playfield is in excellent shape too! The reason for that is the full-playfield mylar that appears to have been installed on day one (even in the shooter lane!). It certainly did it's job in protecting the playfield all these years, but it is starting to show it's age. I might attempt to remove it at a later date, but for now I'll just shine it up with Novus 2.

Upper playfield shot shows off the nice still-white bumper caps that are typically yellowed and faded.

This lower playfield photo really shows how much the mylar protects the artwork against not only wear but also fading and yellowing. The colors are still rich and vibrant.

Overall, the cabinet and head are in very good condition. A few touch-ups and it will look like new again.

All of the plastics are intact with only minor wear. That is one scary-looking alien monster...

As expected for a game of this vintage, the target decals are faded and worn, and due to be replaced.

Now, this is interesting. There are supposed to be red & white bullseye targets here. Instead, they're just regular red stand-ups with decals. Judging from the amount of fade, it's likely that they substituted these in at the Williams factory during production.

Here are the correct bullseye targets. These are actual Williams NOS targets available from Maverick Amusements. Before installing, I polished the center rivets and added target foam to the metal tabs. Much better!
